Chromebook Will Not Power On or Charge - How to Perform a Hard Reset
The first thing to try if a Chromebook will not turn on is a Hard Reset.
This process will also reset Chromebook hardware and will often fix hardware issues on a Chromebook such as keyboard, touchpad, sound, WiFi, etc.
Please follow these steps:
- Unplug the Chromebook.
-
Press and hold the Refresh key (above the 4 key) and tap the Power button (like you are turning it on).
- Continue to hold the Refresh key and wait up to 10 seconds to see if it turns on.
- When the Chrome logo with a white background displays on the screen, release Refresh
- If the Chromebook still does not turn on, please submit a ticket at support.rrps.net for a technician to look at the device.
