Chromebook Will Not Power On or Charge - How to Perform a Hard Reset

The first thing to try if a Chromebook will not turn on is a Hard Reset.

This process will also reset Chromebook hardware and will often fix hardware issues on a Chromebook such as keyboard, touchpad, sound, WiFi, etc.

Please follow these steps:

Unplug the Chromebook.
Press and hold the Refresh key (above the 4 key) and tap the Power button (like you are turning it on).
Continue to hold the Refresh key and wait up to 10 seconds to see if it turns on.
When the Chrome logo with a white background displays on the screen, release Refresh
If the Chromebook still does not turn on, please submit a ticket at support.rrps.net for a technician to look at the device.
